When you're 7 years old you get these grand parties to celebrate your birthday. Your friends come over, they give you cool things, they sing happy birthday and if you're lucky you get a piece of cake. You think to yourself "I love being a kid"!!! You also think to yourself, I'm never gonna get old... Noooo! Not me. But the years slowly roll on by and you begin to realize that the birthdays are less and less grand, the presents are less frequent and WAY less cool, and soon you're just hanging out with the family. You're 12 and you still have that mentality that you will never get old... Life is just too fun. Then one day you wake up and you're 30. You think to yourself "What the Fuck!" how did this happen... Why did this happen?
It's then you realize that you haven't done anything that you really WANTED to do in the first place. You wanted to be a doctor... You're a medical assistant. Lawyer? Nope... You are the secretary. You didn't graduate from college, or you went late. You have a family to support now, and you love it... You just wonder... When did I get old? How did I miss out on all the fun.
What you don't realize is that life is STILL fun. You actually like your job as the Medical Assistant or Secretary because the stress of being the Doctor or Lawyer isn't there. You love the career you have. So what if you never went to college... You will. If you went late, you went AND you graduated. You're wife/husband and kid(s) are the love(s) of your life and you are certain that if you had taken a different path earlier on, you still would have met her/him/them.
Life is what you make it. Don't regret, hesitate or stop. And under no circumstances, never look back and ask what if.

"Life's like the road you travel on". Famous words. We are here for a reason. But I don't think that reason is to be nomadic wanderers. I like to think that we all have at least somewhat of a purpose in life, whether it be selling shoes; or a moon mission to the President. My purpose is simple; I was to find my true love here in Flagstaff and settle here. What's next? I have no idea. I just know that to some degree it will be exciting and stressful, happy and sad. Lets see where it goes.
